From business development to builder

01 / The backstory

Each step of Mike’s old process meant more manual work, and another chance for things to get held up. Now his tools automatically update account dashboards, build pipeline in his CRM, run pricing analyses, and more.

The surprising part? He set it all up himself, without a technical background.

Toward the end of 2025, Mike started teaching himself to build with a new generation of AI tools that made it much easier to get started. Shortly after, GovTribe released GovTribe MCP, giving him a way to connect GovTribe to the tools he was experimenting with.

Then a coworker built a dashboard with GovTribe to keep tabs on important market intel. Leadership liked it and asked Mike to build one for every account.

Within about three months, he’d built much more than that.

02 / Dashboards

His first task was simple enough: build account dashboards for every client. With GovTribe connected, the dashboards automatically pull in relevant opportunities and awards, so each account has current intel without anyone researching, organizing, and rebuilding it into a report or deck.

Then he zoomed out and built a company-level dashboard, giving leadership a high-level view across every account.

Turn research into pipeline and pricing

With GovTribe, his CRM, and other tools connected, Mike built agents that do the research, then put it to work.

Auto-generated pipelines

First, he created a pipeline agent and told it what a good opportunity looks like for Alpha Omega, including preferred agencies, contract size, set-asides, and other criteria.

The agent uses GovTribe to find and research opportunities that fit, then sends qualified leads straight to the team’s CRM. Instead of finding, researching, and passing along each opportunity himself, the agent builds the pipeline automatically.

Price-to-win analyses

He applied the same idea to pricing, creating a price-to-win agent. It uses GovTribe to pull historical pricing for similar contracts, then estimates what a competitive price could look like for a pursuit.

And it works. Mike regularly tests the agent on contracts where the actual pricing is already known, then compares its estimates to the real numbers.

Find and research acquisition targets

04 / Research

Alpha Omega was also looking for acquisition targets, so Mike built a custom M&A assessment tool.

He gave it the criteria for a good acquisition. The tool uses GovTribe to find companies that fit, researches them, and gives his team a shortlist with the reasons each company made the cut.

Now, whenever they want new targets, they just run it again.
