Find Contract Opportunities with Saved Searches and Recommendations

Finding the right government contract opportunities can feel like a daunting task, especially for small businesses with limited resources. Even though federal agencies spent around $694 billion on contracts in FY 2022, navigating these opportunities and finding the right ones for you can be complicated and time-consuming.

To make things easier, GovTribe created two powerful features: saved searches and recommendations. Together, these tools act like the perfect government contracting assistant, bringing you relevant contract opportunities, monitoring your specific markets, passing along relevant updates, tracking your competitors, and finding potential teaming partners.

Many of our users have secured lucrative contracts using these features, and you can, too. (Just keep reading.)

How do saved searches find contract opportunities?

Let’s say you’re interested in contract opportunities associated with certain NAICS codes or other criteria. Traditionally, you’d have to manually search those criteria for opportunities and updates.

With GovTribe, you can save these searches to your account and automatically receive notifications when relevant opportunities are posted. This feature is especially useful for those who need to monitor specific market segments closely (e.g., a landscaping company looking for opportunities with the keyword "landscaping" due within the next 12 months).

How do you set up saved searches?

Creating a saved search on GovTribe is really simple. All you need to do is:

    1. Input your keywords and filters.
Specify what you're looking for, such as certain NAICS codes, UNSPSC categories or keywords.
    2. Save the search to your account.
Use the save button to store your search criteria.
    3. Activate email notifications.
Choose to receive updates daily or weekly, keeping you informed in real-time.

What are other uses for saved searches?

The best part about saved searches? Your customization options are practically endless. Once you get the hang of setting them up, you can start to get creative. Here are some other cool ways you can leverage saved searches:

    • Prepare for recompetes
Stay ahead of the game by keeping tabs on contracts coming up for renewal.
    • Track competitor activity
Ever wonder why your arch-nemesis beat you on that last opportunity? Use saved searches to find out what they’re up to.
    • Find potential teaming partners
Looking for allies? Set up searches to discover potential partners who can help you win that next big contract.

How do recommendations help find contract opportunities?

While saved searches let you customize and fine-tune exactly what you're looking for, recommendations act as a safety net, catching anything you might have missed.

Here’s how it works: GovTribe uses a points-based algorithm that gets smarter the more you interact with the platform. Think of it like Netflix—when you watch a show, Netflix suggests similar ones. Similarly, as you engage with GovTribe, it learns your preferences and suggests relevant opportunities.

This means you'll get a wider range of potential projects, some of which you might not have discovered on your own. It's an extra layer of help to ensure you don't miss out on valuable contract opportunities.
